Sigma Upsilon Chapter at Indiana University

Kappa Delta

Letter to Parents

Hello, and welcome to the website of Kappa Delta at Indiana University! As President of the Sigma Upsilon chapter, I'm proud to tell you about our sisterhood and all that KD has to offer. There's no doubt that Kappa Delta has been an incredible experience, and I know that friendships and memories will be life-long.

Our chapter was founded in 1923 and is one of 23 Panhellenic sororities on Indiana University's campus. We strive to strengthen bonds not only among our chapter members, but throughout the Panhellenic, Greek, and Bloomington communities as well.
Our sisterhood revolves around building confidence in its members through success philanthropically, socially, academically, and as leaders in our chapter and in the community. We support the Bloomington Middle Way House and Prevent Child Abuse America through our annual Shamrock fundraiser and community service opportunities; last fall, we raised over $40,000 for PCAA and the Middle Way House, and logged more than 2,000 hours of volunteer efforts!
Kappa Delta encourages growth through lifetime learning, and as a new member, your daughter will receive a truly enhanced college and life experience. Our new members receive education about what becoming a KD truly means, as well as encouragement to continue uphold our high academic, social, and leadership standards. Our unique system of appointing positions to each member allows our sisters to grow and thrive as leaders and women.  Additionally, each new member receives a big sister, an initiated member of Kappa Delta who provides both friendship and mentorship.  We are confident that she will receive everything back that she puts into her Kappa Delta experience and more!
Thank you for your time, and please contact me with any questions you may have. (
